This 7-day motorcycle adventure provides a real insight to all aspects of Morocco and includes twisting mountain roads and passes, off-road riding and a night in the dunes of the Sahara Desert. This trip will take us to the cedar forests of the Atlas, the rock of the Mummy, the valleys of Dades and Todra, the city of Ouarzazate and we will spend a night in a desert camp between the dunes of the Sahara and will hike to the beautiful waterfalls of Ouzoud. We will ride twisting mountain passes, flowing dirt tracks and we will experience the joy of river crossings on a motorbike.
Day 1 : Arrival
Arrival to Casablanca. Transfer to your hotel, where you will be able to settle in and relax by the pool to prepare for your trip the next morning. You will meet your tour guide and go through a welcome briefing as well as the formalities required before the start and you will receive your welcome pack.
Day 2 : Casablanca – Azrou (approx. 370 km)
You will be transferred to our workshop and receive your BMW bikes early in the morning before starting our journey towards Azrou. We will head towards Rabat on normal roads to warm up so you can get used to your bike as well as local driving habits before turning East to tackle the winding mountain roads that will provide an excellent insight to the great riding Morocco has to offer. Our stop for the night will be in a nice hotel on the border of the cedar forest where you can relax by the pool or discuss the first day at the bar.
Day 3 : Azrou – Errachidia (approx. 270 km)
We will start the day with light off-road riding through the forests where we’ll have the opportunity to admire the quiet setting and feed the barbary apes that live in the area. We will then tackle the climbing roads of the Middle-Atlas passing the high plateau of the mountain range. We will go through the French foreign Legion tunnel towards Errachidia where we are spending the night.
Day 4 : Errachidia - Merzouga (approx. 110 km)
Today we will ride from the edge of the Sahara, our stop for the day will be a fine hotel in Merzouga where we will stop for a short break and leave the bikes to climb aboard the 4×4 of our guide who will take us to our camp in the dunes of the Sahara. We will admire the sunset from the dunes before dinner and then you will be able to admire the desert skyline at night. Note that in case of a rare sand storm, we will likely remain at the hotel which offers a more comfortable setting.
Day 5: Merzouga – Boumalne Dadès (approx. 220 km)
Wake up call will come early today as we’ll climb the dunes before sunrise to admire the unique effects from atop the dunes before our early breakfast. We will then have a guided tour aboard the 4×4 to visit the dunes and the sights around the area, including the coal and crystal mines.
We will pick up our bikes at the hotel and will head to the rock of the Mummy for some off-road riding and to admire the view of the desert from the top of the rocks that offer a unique sight known to only a few. Or route will take us through deserted landscapes before heading to the Todra valley to ride beneath the huge cliffs that offer a unique scenery. We will spend the night at the feet of the Atlas range in a fine hotel.
Day 6: Boumalne Dadès – Ouarzazate (approx. 180 km)
Despite the short daily distance, the riding will be exceptional. We will start our day by climbing the most photographed hairpins in Morocco in the Dades valley. A relatively short bike ride will take us to our lodging for this evening where you can enjoy a drink by the pool while taking in the wonderful sight of the lake. In the afternoon we’ll head to the hidden Oases of Fint through some more technical off-road tracks and smaller river-crossings to get an insight to the lives of local villages and explore the oasis.
On our way back you will have the opportunity to visit the Kasbah of Ouarzazate and wonder around the many local souvenir shops.
Excellent local dishes will be served for dinner.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Marrakesh (approx. 220 km)
Another wonderful touring day awaits us full of twists and turns on less frequented roads, combined with beautiful surroundings as we climb the High Atlas. We will spend the evening in the amazing imperial city of Marrakesh where you will have the chance to visit the city center and its famous main square, Jamaa El Fna.
Day 8: Marrakesh – Casablanca (approx. 250 km)
Our last motorcycle adventure tour day will start with a short but exhilarating ride will then take us to the border of the Bin el Ouidane barrage and there will be plenty of turns and switchbacks to enjoy before we descend to the vast planes that lay between the Atlas and the Ocean. Our ride will take us through smaller country roads and the occasional dirt track before arriving back to our HQ to return the bikes. You will then be taken back to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the evening rewinding the best moments of the trip or you can decide to take the time to explore the city. This will be the last opportunity to invite your guide for a drink at the bar.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your flight time, you might take the opportunity to relax or visit the city before the arranged pick-up takes you to the airport.
